Let's Upcycle Jeans to Sew a Tote Bag by Rosie & David Patterns

Updated: 4 days ago

I love to use upcycled jeans in my sewing projects! In the video tutorial below I go through the process of upcycling a pair of jeans to sew into a Tote Bag. The finished Tote measures 13" Wide x 11" High and 3" Deep. The exterior of the bag is made from recycled jeans. Leather was used for the shoulder straps and exterior bottom. There are exterior and interior zipper pockets with leather overlays and the interior also has a divided slip pocket. Vinyl fabric can be used instead of leather. An iPad Pro easily fits into the bag and both zipper pockets can easily carry an iPhone 12 with room to spare. 100% Cotton Quilting Fabric is used for the bag lining and both the lining and exterior bag are interfaced with a woven fusible interfacing. Below you will also find a link to the project worksheet that gives all the information regarding materials and cutting measurements.
